Top Diploma Engineering Collages in West Bengal

The Polytechnic education in our state was introduced immediately after independence. To look after the academic activities of polytechnic education ‘State Council for Engineering & Technical Education’ was set up as a government outfit by an executive order.

West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education & Skill Development has various activities for conducting a number of course at Diploma. Post Diploma, Certificate , Advance certificate, Short time vocational training.

There are almost 150 govt. and private polytechnic collages in west Bengal. Among them some collages are very good for completing 3 year diploma course. Majority prefers collages in Kolkata circle but there are really some good institutes outside the Kolkata circle. The top polytechnic collages are shown bellow  they are ranked by number of sits available, number of faculties , workshop conditions etc.

10. West Bengal Survey Institute

 West Bengal Survey Institute, or WBSI, is a public technical education college located in Bandel, West Bengal. It is affiliated with West Bengal State Council of Technical Education and approved by All India Council For Technical Education.
Available course :- civil engineering, survey engineering, and diploma in GIS and GPS.
Hostels are available for both boys and girls.
This institute is exceptionally good for survey engineering.

9. M.B.C. Institute of Engineering and Technology

M.B.C. Institute of Engineering and Technology, established in 1893 is located in Sadhanpur, Purba Bardhaman district. It is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering.
Hostels are available for both boys and girls.

8. Technique Polytechnic Institute

Technique Polytechnic Institute is a co-educational private diploma engineering college located in West Bengal, India. It is affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical Education and approved by All India Council for Technical Education.
Address: Hooghly Station Road, P.O. Sugandhya, Dist Hooghly, Panchrokhi, West Bengal 712102
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and computer science and technology.
Hostels are available for both boys and girls.



7. Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic

Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic is a polytechnic college located in Mayurbhanj Road in Kolkata, West Bengal. The institute was established in 1959 and was named after Sir Jnan Chandra Ghosh, an eminent chemist and the first director of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering.
Hostel available only for girls.



6. Calcutta Technical School

The Calcutta Technical School (CTS) is a technical institute is located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal of India. It is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE), approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) and provides Diploma level technical education to its students.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering and computer science and technology.
There is no hostel facility in this collage.




5. North Calcutta Polytechnic

North Calcutta Polytechnic, established in 1976, is a government polytechnic located in 15, Gobinda Mondal Road, CIT, Satchasi Para in Kolkata, West Bengal. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and architecture.

There is no hostel facility in this collage.



4. Ramkrishna Mission Shilpapitha

Ramakrishna Mission Shilpapitha, established in 1958, is a government sponsored polytechnic located in Belgharia, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering.
This is an all male technical college and there is no hostel facility available.

3. Central Calcutta Polytechnic

Central Calcutta Polytechnic is a government polytechnic college in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal in India. It is affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, approved by All India Council for Technical Education and provides diploma level technical education to its students.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and computer science and technology.
There is no hostel facility in this collage.


2. Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic

Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic is a polytechnic college in located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal of India. It is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, approved by All India Council For Technical Education and provides Diploma level technical education to its students.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and computer science and technology and they offer also diploma in food processing technology.

 1.Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira

Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, established in 1954, is a self-financed polytechnic located in Belur Math, Bally, Howrah district, West Bengal. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.
Available course :- civil engineering, electrical & mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering. And they offer various crash courses in computer technology.
This is an all male technical college and there is no hostel facility available.






There are also some good diploma collages who are not in the list like BIT,HIT, Chandannagar Women’s polytechnic etc.
